Some time ago Southbay Residents may remember a news story about an officer being shot and paralyzed. Officer Kristina Ripatti was a Los Angeles police officer and became paralyzed when a suspect shot her multiple times. One bullet remains lodged in her spine, paralyzing her. See the CBS 2 announcement of the show.

Over the weekend we walked over to the makeover site. It’s along a quiet street that contains one of the last remaining blocks of “single family resident” 1 story homes in our North Redondo neighborhood; most of the other blocks are populated with 2-story townhomes that offers more space and updated amenities. The demolition had already happened and the house structure was half completed.

Note – There will be a special Farmer’s Market event at the Redondo Beach Perfoming Center (corner of Aviation and Manhattan Beach Boulevard) to help raise funds for the Ripatti family.

Here are some pictures we took of the site, and of Michael Moloney and Eduardo Xol – they’re really nice and down to earth, signed autographs and smiled at everyone. Ty is in Utah scouting another makeover site and won’t be back till Tuesday.
