How NOT to Save on Gas

Southbay residents may have seen some recent stabilization of gas prices in the low- to mid $3 per gallon range for regular unleaded. Other than taking less trips and getting hybrid cars, some southbay residents may have been exposed to gadgets that’ supposedly help “save” on gas consumption.
Often, the cost of purchasing gas saving gadgets or “pills” may end up hurting your pocketbook in the long run. It may cost you more to buy a gas saving “pill” (gasoline additive) for doubtful savings on gas consumption than if you just fill up on gas based on your normal driving habits. What’s more disturbing is that some of these products are part of multilevel marketing schemes. Here are a couple of links we’ve found about this:
