In the last quarter of 2006, many homeowners have been hit hard by rising interest rates. We also began to read about mortgage delinquencies and predictions of massive foreclosures to come in the residential real estate market. This is where House Buyer Network comes in.
House Buyer Network wants to provide “home sellers with innovative ways to solve their real estate needs” by leveraging the Internet and facilitating all process of selling your home and save you time and money. An unsavory way of putting it, House Buyer Network helps home owners unload a home they can no longer want for some reason. Increasing foreclosures and mortgage hardships are harsh realities from the recent real estate boom and the hordes of “creative financing” that proved sweet only for a short term for home buyers.
Based out of Marietta, Georgia, House Buyer Network is free to sellers. Its goal is to make what may be a very painful situation (for example, facing a mortgage you may no longer afford) or even a great situation (for example, needing to sell your home quickly because you’ve just been promoted to direct a company overseas) as painless as possible. Filling out the form online takes less than 2 minutes, especially when the offer form displays right on the website’s front page.
House Buyer Network wants to be a “solution”. The company does this by selecting professional real estate investors (“Professional Home Buyers”) and real estate agents who have demonstrated a track record of selling homes quickly. Although we don’t know what the rigorous selection criteria is, exactly, the company claims to have processed $10 Billion in real estate transactions in 2006 alone. This may be indicative of both the company’s satisfactory services and the sign of the times of high priced home ownership.
One thing that bothers me is a short list of testimonials on the company website. Given the volume of business that the company claims to have done, and given the tenure of the company (in business since 2002), I’d like to have read more customer reviews, and at least more success stories. My own web search turned up mostly press releases about the company, but nothing from past customers or user opinions. If you have used this service in the past, I’d be very interested in your feedback (please email me at southbayblogs@gmail.com).
House Buyer Network has an interesting concept and business model for today’s housing market trends. Whether internet-based real estate matchmaking works for sellers in a hurry remains to be seen by customer satisfaction feedback that appears scarce for this type of service.
