The Strand was gorgeous today! Many people had taken today off work to enjoy a long July 4th weekend. We took a brisk stroll along the Strand from Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Beach Pier. Fiesta Hermosa occurs twice a year and is happening right now over Memorial Day weekend at the Hermosa Beach pier! Coca Cola is giving away free Vault drinks and Carnation is giving free coffee samples. All other food is overpriced as usual :) We hopped into the nearby Subway sandwich shop to get a sub instead of spending $4 on a hotdog. More »

Sharkeez on Fire!

Early yesterday morning Sharkeez Hermosa Beach was destroyed by a fire! The popular HB pub/bar is 80 years old. Luckily, no one was injured. Cause of fire is still being investigated. Flickr member and Southbay resident “southbayguido” has posted pictures of the Sharkeez fire on Flickr.
